Features

Objectives

In Tibetan areas, children of farmers and herdsmen rarely have the opportunity to learn the traditional Tibetan culture; and Tibetan monks can hardly accept modern applied science and other languages. To meet those challenges, we are committed to training the children in an all round way to let them develop morally, intellectually, physically, and artistically. They are going to be equipped with at least middle-level scientific and cultural knowledge as well as good moral senses, so they can be useful to our country as well as locality. Thus, we also help to improve the overall competitiveness of the Tibetan culture.

2. Teaching Method

We introduce the logistical debating method of Tibetan Buddhism into the teaching of modern disciplines. For thousands of years, the major front for succession and development of Tibetan culture is the monasteries, which are the primary schools, middle schools and colleges in traditional Tibetan society. They have trained numerous wise monks and talents. Various disciplines taught at the monasteries even exceed that of the most famous universities. In terms of degree, Geshe is the equivalent of bachelor¨s degree, and there are Larenba and Duorenba above it. The highest degree, Gedanchiba, needs 50 to 60 years¨ study. As a successful Geshe, Jigme Gyaltsen benefits from the education of monastery, and he is now integrating the Hetu-vidya logistic debating method with modern teaching. This can help train students¨ logistic thinking and expression, improve their memory and stimulate their mind. It can also help to develop the intelligence of young people and inspire them to carry on in-depth study on all the disciplines.

3. Achievement

The teachers are all knowledgeable monks who give gradual orientation to students and teach with patience and kindness. The students work hard, obey the rules of the school, and progress quickly. The students of the school published over 50 books. There were 257 graduates in the past nine years with high school, middle school, or even college diploma. The school was well-praised by all the people in the Tibetan area for its achievement.
